A long beach with a right-hand point break over rock at one end and beach break along the rest, softer and peakier than Tierra Blanca. On small swell it is one of the best beginner waves outside town. Natural pools form among the rocks for swimming and watching fish, and the palapas on the sand are known for very good food.
About 45 minutes east on Highway 200, already in Santa María Tonameca, between Puertecito and Escobilla. La Punta surf schools run surf trips here when Zicatela is big.

Swim in the pools or near the shore and only on small swell; on groundswell the current is strong, as on the whole open coast. Turtles nest here: at night, no lights and no noise.
