Open ocean in Santa María Colotepec, half an hour southeast. One of the most consistent beach breaks in the area: on small to medium swell there is almost always a wave and few people; on big swell it closes out completely and gets intimidating. A surf beach, not a swimming one.
East on Highway 200, past La Barra and El Tomatal; the turnoff to Plataforma is signed. No direct public transport: taxi, scooter or car.

The map location is approximate. No services on the beach: bring water and shade. Do not paddle out on a big swell even if you see others in.
No swimming. Rip currents (the ones pulling out to sea) cause nearly every accident. If one catches you, do not swim against it: swim sideways, parallel to the shore, until you are out. Emergency numbers →
