The reddish cliff point west of Bacocho, next to the airport. Its wave is a fast, closing beach break that Puerto treats as a bodyboard spot rather than a surfboard one: one of the few places in town where bodyboarders rule. Open beach, no services, nobody around.
Along the airport road, following the Bacocho neighborhood west to its end; the last stretch is on foot along the cliff.
Not a beach for swimming or learning: the wave closes out very fast and there is nobody to help. Best with a local who knows the spot.
No swimming. Rip currents (the ones pulling out to sea) cause nearly every accident. If one catches you, do not swim against it: swim sideways, parallel to the shore, until you are out. Emergency numbers →
